Part-A: Basic Postal Knowledge

• Types of Post Offices
• Business Hours
• Payment of postage, stamps, and stationery
• Rules for packing, sealing & posting
• Methods of address
• Post boxes and post bags
• Duties of Letter Box Peon
• Official postal articles & prohibited articles
• India Post products and services (mails, banking, remittances, insurance, stamps, business)
• Definitions from Postal Manual Volume V
Part-B: General Awareness / Knowledge
Includes basic general knowledge topics:
• Indian Geography
• Civics & Governance
• General Knowledge
• Indian Culture & Freedom Struggle
• Ethics & Moral Studies
Part-C: Basic Arithmetic
Typical arithmetic topics:
• BODMAS (Brackets, Orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction)

🅱️ Paper II – Knowledge of Postal Operations (Postman Only – 50 Marks)
This section tests practical knowledge relevant to a Postman’s duties and postal operations:
• Delivery of mails
• Refusal of article
• Payment of e-Money Order
• Redirection of mail
• Instruction regarding address change
• Articles addressed to deceased persons
• Liability of detention of certain mails
• Facilities provided by postmen in rural areas
• Postal Manual VI – Part III topics (Head Postman duties, postal business knowledge, postman’s book, sale of stamps, delivery instructions, etc.)
• Postal Manual Volume VII operations (stamps & seals, mail abstract, exchange of mails, transit procedures, duties of mail guard/agent, etc.)
